The Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America announced the passing of His Eminence Archbishop Vatche Hovsepian on Sunday, December 18. H.E. Archbishop Hovsepian was the Primate of the Western Diocese from 1971 to 2003.
Archbishop Hovsepian, member of the Brotherhood of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the eldest clergyman of the Armenian Apostolic Church, entered his eternal rest earlier today. He was 92 years old.
The Western Diocese conveyed its deep condolences to the Hovsepian family, relatives, the Diocesan clergy and the faithful. Details about the funeral service will be made in the upcoming days.
