YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. The United States of America will continue to support diplomacy that will lead to peace in the South Caucasus and solution to the problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan, ARMENPRESS reports spokesperson of the US State Department, Ned Price said.
“The United States has been very much engaged with the parties to help bring about a peaceful future for the South Caucasus region. We’ve held – we’ve convened now two trilateral meetings between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Secretary Blinken continued to be in telephonic communication with the parties as well. When they were last together, the foreign ministers agreed to expedite their negotiations, to organize another meeting in the coming weeks. They both expressed their appreciation to the U.S. side for hosting that ministerial. We certainly hope that the dialogue and constructive atmosphere between the two countries will continue as we continue to support the diplomacy to lead to a lasting peace and resolving issues between the two countries”, Price said in a press briefing.
The Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs and the subsequent trilateral meeting with US Secretary of State Blinken took place in Washington on November 7.
