On the morning of Thursday, January 16, 2025, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, accompanied Mr. Gevik Baghdassarian and Mr. Jack Hadjinian, members of the Executive Council of the Western Prelacy, welcomed a delegation from the Glendale Fire Department at the Western Prelacy headquarters. The delegation included Glendale Fire Chief Greg Fish and Deputy Chief of operations Jeff Brooks, and Mr. Zaven Kazazian, a Board member of the Glendale Fire Council.
Following H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian’s warm words of welcome, the visitors expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet, introduced themselves, and shared insights into the Glendale Fire Department’s operations, and the scope of work. They highlighted the responsibilities and operations of the Glendale Fire Department, the selfless dedication of firefighters, and their vital humanitarian mission. The visitors also extended heartfelt congratulations to the Prelate on his election, offering blessings for a prosperous New Year and Christmas, along with health, safety, and service.
H.E. Archbishop Khacherian commended the Glendale Fire Department for their exceptional service, dedication, and courage in saving lives, and protecting property and structures, often at great personal risk. The Prelate acknowledged the dangerous and noble nature of their work, describing it as both God-pleasing and humanitarian in nature. Reflecting on the devastating Los Angeles fires of recent weeks, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian praised the firefighters for their extraordinary efforts, dedication, and heroic sacrifices, while expressing sorrow for the tragic loss of lives and the significant damage caused by these devastating fires.
Concluding the meeting, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian offered his heartfelt wishes for healthy and fulfilling years ahead to Chief Greg Fish and Deputy Chief Brooks. The Prelate expressed hope that our nation would be spared from further large-scale fires similar to the one in Los Angeles, encouraging the delegation to remain steadfast in their optimism and faith in God’s guidance and protection.
