Deputies of the Republic of Armenia (RA) Supreme Council are convening today to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the RA Declaration of Independence. The meeting was organized by the “Supreme Council” parliamentary club’s chairmanship.
“Today’s authorities are leading the third republic toward destruction,” stated Artur Khachatryan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) and the National Assembly “Armenia” faction, during his speech.
Khachatryan emphasized that the foundation of the current Republic of Armenia was built upon the Republics of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
“The Declaration of Independence not only marked the restoration of independent Armenian statehood but also outlined the key political principles upon which the Republic of Armenia was established. The foremost principle was the realization of pan-Armenian goals. The Republic of Armenia, with its 29,742 square kilometers, was not merely the homeland of Armenians living within its borders but was declared the republic of all Armenians. The foundation of this statehood was the Republics of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Today, the RA authorities, by driving a wedge between Armenia, the Republic of Artsakh, and the Armenian Diaspora, are attempting to divide our nation. However, the Armenian people have pan-Armenian goals. Armenian statehood is committed to the reunification of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, and we cannot be diverted from that course,” said Artur Khachatryan.
