STRASBOURG, FRANCE – Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the representative of the ARF Supreme Body of Armenia, who is in Strasbourg on a working visit, had a number of meetings in the European Parliament.
Meetings were held with members of the European Parliament, member of the RA-EU parliamentary cooperation committee Peter Vitanov, chairman of the friendship group with Armenia in the European Parliament, Luxa Furlas, vice-chairman of the ECR political group of the Parliament, Charlie Weimer.
At the end of the working day, Saghatelyan also had a meeting with the Vice President of the European Parliament, Heidi Hautala.
During the meetings, the security challenges around Armenia and Artsakh and the continuous aggression of Azerbaijan became a special topic of discussion. Saghatelyan emphasized the issue of the full realization of Artsakh’s right to self-determination and its status as a means of protecting the rights of the people of Artsakh and settling the conflict. It was emphasized that any solution by which Artsakh will be part of Azerbaijan is unacceptable for the Armenian people.
The goals and upcoming plans of the “Resistance” movement were also presented to the European partners, and the internal political situation of Armenia was discussed.
Saghatelyan’s visit will end in a few days.
