YEREVAN, ARMENIA – Earlier this week, Raffi Hovannisian visited Freedom Square in Armenia, where opposition MP Artur Vanetsyan is staging a round the clock sit-in protest demanding the resignation of Pashinyan over his concessions on the Arstakh Issue.
Hovannisian was the first foreign minister of the Republic of Armenia and former President Serzh Sargsyan’s primary challenger in the 2013 presidential elections.
Speaking to reporters, Hovanissian stated that he believes Pashinyan has demonstrated for some time and specially in recent months that he “lacks national consciousness” and that “his positions coincide with those of our enemies and not of someone who supposedly has a mandate to represent the nation.”
