Beginning July 1, 2023, IHSS providers who do not live with their recipient(s) will be required to use one of three timesheet options—the IHSS EVV Mobile App, Electronic Services Portal (ESP), or Telephone Timesheet System (TTS) to:
1. Check-in at the beginning of each shift in real-time;
2. Check-out at the end of each shift in real-time; and
3. Indicate if services are being provided in the recipient(s) home or community.
There are no changes for recipients. Recipients will continue to review and approve their provider’s electronic timesheets the same as today. The EVV requirements do not change how recipient services are authorized or how recipients receive their services.
What is new for non-live-in IHSS Providers?
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) created the new IHSS EVV Mobile App and will be available for download on July 1, 2023. Additionally, the ESP and TTS were both modified with new options to allow for easy check-in and check-out. Non-live-in providers have the option of selecting one of these three methods for checking in and out, based on their preference.
Where can we learn more about the new EVV requirements?
To learn more about EVV, the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is urging non-live-in IHSS providers to visit the DPSS website at: https://bit.ly/ihssevv.
Resources include important announcements, Frequently Asked Questions, direct access to additional CDSS EVV information and more.
The CDSS is offering EVV Location Services provider training webinar sessions which demonstrates how non-live-in IHSS providers will use the IHSS EVV Mobile App, the ESP, and the TTS to check-in and check-out. For a complete schedule visit the CDSS website at:
