On Sunday, April 15, the Crescenta Valley Armenian Youth Center Outreach Committee joined with the Sunland Chamber of Commerce and local nonprofit, Making it Happen, to provide free lunch to more than one hundred unhoused neighbors at Sunland Park. Members of all three organizations as well as students from La Cañada High School enthusiastically handed out meals donated by local Armenian restaurant Byblos.

The event was spearheaded by former President of the Crescenta Valley Town Council Harry Leon, Chamber President Sonia Tatulian, and “Making it Happen” President Pattee Colvin. “We feel a deep obligation towards humanity and to respect the dignity of those in need in our community. The least we can do is offer them something to eat,” expressed Committee Chairman Vahak Tchobanian, a sentiment that was echoed by all who volunteered.

The CV Armenian Youth Center is located in the heart of the Crescenta Valley and is used to host and organize events to serve the local community. The Outreach Committee is planning several other upcoming events. To stay updated email CVACOutreach@gmail.com.
