Through the good offices of the ANCA, Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse, Police Chief Mark
Stainbrook, and City Manager Nancy Hunt-Coffey were welcomed by the Armenian Bar
Association at a momentous meeting on February 10th, where the ArmenBar vigorously advocated
to help protect the interests of the Armenian community.
Bar Vice-Chairman Steve Dadaian, Bar Board Member Armen K. Hovannisian, and Armenian Rights Watch member Mariam Danielyan articulated our community’s serious misgivings about the city’s handling of the recent hate
incidents which horrifically and illicitly exhorted efforts to “wipe Armenia off the map.”
To their estimable credit, Beverly Hills brass acknowledged the miscalculation of their initial public
responses and committed to a more robust and empathetic engagement to address the antiArmenian offenses within city limits. As a result of this meeting, we are encouraged that the city of Beverly Hills has reconfirmed that it will never be a safe harbor for bigotry or hatred of any ilk or iteration. Thank you, Mayor Bosse, Chief Stainbrook, and City Manager Hunt-Coffey.
