BURBANK, CA – The application for the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) Western
United States Youth Corps 2023 Summer Program is now available.
AYF Youth Corps is encouraging individuals aged 18 or older to apply for the
opportunity to serve as counselors in Armenia and Artsakh for the upcoming 2023
Summer Program.
AYF Youth Corps is a program that entails participants spending six weeks in Armenia
and Artsakh to help host coordinated summer camps catering to the youth within
various regions. During these camps, participants will help campers learn basic
English, Armenian history, and patriotic songs. Campers will also engage in other
activities, including creating arts and crafts and participating in friendly competitions.
AYF Youth Corps is an enriching experience for members of the Diaspora to make
tangible connections in the Homeland. Shant Sassounian, a 2022 Youth Corps
participant, described his experience: “The AYF Youth Corps program is an opportunity
to meet the people, and especially kids, in the Homeland. The campers look forward to
this program every year, and it will put the biggest smile on your face and warm your
heart like nothing else. It’s hard saying goodbye to the kids at the end of camp, but
knowing the amazing impact you made on the youth of the Homeland is the most
fulfilling feeling I’ve ever had.”
