ARF Marks 134th Anniversary with Commemorative Event in Tehran

TEHRAN—The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) celebrated its 134th anniversary on December 18 with a special event hosted by the H.U. “Chharmahal” Union at the Tumanyan Hall. The occasion highlighted the ARF’s enduring role in addressing the existential challenges facing the Armenian nation.

The event commenced with the march “Mshak Banvor” and a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. Biayna Amirian read a message from the ARF’s Tehran Central Committee, emphasizing the party’s dedication to national ideals.

Keynote addresses underscored the ARF’s historical mission. Ara Puluzyan, representing the ARF Artsakh Central Committee, reflected on the past 35 years, noting the ARF’s commitment to Armenia’s independence, Artsakh’s liberation, and state-building efforts. He reaffirmed the party’s central tenet: achieving a Free, Independent, and United Armenia.

Hrant Margaryan, former ARF Bureau representative, spoke on the challenges confronting the Armenian nation, emphasizing the ARF’s role as a defender of Armenian interests. “We are soldiers of the homeland,” Margaryan declared. “Wherever there is a threat to Armenian security, we are its shield.”

The program included video presentations chronicling the ARF’s 134-year journey and a message from Archbishop Sebouh Sargsyan, presented by Father Arakel Katehjian. The Archbishop praised the ARF’s legacy of sacrifice and called for renewed dedication to the Armenian people and homeland.

Artistic elements enriched the event, with a recitation symbolizing the vision of a united Armenia, performed by clergy and youth. Traditional Armenian dances by the Nayiri Dance Group, directed by Artavazd Avetisyan, added to the cultural celebration. The evening concluded with national-revolutionary songs performed live under the direction of Armen Asatryan.

The event showcased the ARF’s enduring commitment to the Armenian cause, uniting attendees in a shared vision of resilience and progress.
