Ahead of COP29, on the initiative of the ARF Armenian Dat European Office, European Parliament deputies, more than eight hundred international organizations, universities, and academics participating in the conference have been informed about the challenges in Azerbaijan related to human rights and the environmental sphere.
As a result of this parallel effort, around 60 members of both houses of the U.S. Congress have joined a letter from Congressman Frank Pallone and Senator Ed Markey, co-chairs of the Armenian Affairs Committee, calling on U.S. authorities to hold Azerbaijan accountable for war crimes, illegal hostage-taking, and the occupation of Armenia’s sovereign territory ahead of COP29.
ARF Hay Dat offices in various countries are sparing no effort in increasing pressure on Azerbaijan before the COP29 summit, with the primary goal being the return of prisoners held in Baku prisons to their homeland.
It is no coincidence that, in recent days, the Azerbaijani press has raised hysteria, once again targeting Dashnaktsutyun and the officials of Hay Dat offices.
Similarly, Armenia’s current authorities and the media aligned with them have been attacking individuals and structures guided by national interests.
Despite these developments, the ARF will continue the struggle for the restoration of justice and the protection of Armenian interests.
