ANCA National and CA leaders joined CA Assemblymember Chris Holden, pro-Armenian state legislators, and Armenia Parliamentarian Artur Khachatryan at a State Capitol program on Monday condemning Azerbaijan’s blockade and aggression against Artsakh, reaffirming Artsakh’s right to self-determination, and signing the California sister state relationship agreement with Armenia’s Syunik province.
Assemblymember Holden, who was the primary sponsor of ACR 105, declaring CA and Syunik sister-states, and AJR 1, supporting Artsakh independence, noted, “I am here today with my fellow state representatives to reaffirm our ongoing commitments to the Armenian community. It is crucial to acknowledge that, during political unrest, united people will never fall.”
Among ANCA National and CA leaders in attendance were ANCA National Board Member Aida Dimejian, ANCA San Fernando Valley East Chair Dr. Avo Babian, ANCA Crescenta Valley Chair Dr. Alice Chalian, ANCA Pasadena’s Rita Abajian, and ANCA Northern California leaders Matt Senekeremian, Ani Yenikomshian, Khatchig Tazian, and Henry Aghajanov, as well as, St. James Armenian Church Pastor Fr. Yeghishe Ksachikyan.
