Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels, scheduled for December 7, will not take place.
“Yesterday, Hikmet Hajiyev (Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – ed.) informed me that he was contacted from the office of Charles Michel and informed that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan agreed to the meeting only if French President Macron participated in it.
This means that this meeting will not take place,” Aliyev said Friday at an international conference.
“We will discuss alternatives,” he said. “We will see who will assume the role of a mediator and on what platform.”
