The Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia is boycotting the World Armenian Summit as reported by Cilicia TV referencing its sources at the Catholicosate.
The so-called “World Armenian Summit ” is to be held in Yerevan between October 28-31. Cilicia TV learned from the Embassy of the Catholicosate that about a month ago, the Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Zareh Sinanian had invited His Holiness Aram I to participate in the so-called summit.
Considering the unfavorable conditions within Armenia, His Holiness expressed his concern and reservations about such an initiative.
Cilicia TV learned from the same sources that the Central Council of the Catholicosate, at its session last week, shared the concerns of His Holiness and considering that the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia was not included in the organizational activities of the summit, along with the fact that Diaspora organizations were not invited, but only individuals, did not consider it appropriate for the Holy See and its dioceses to participated in the summit.
It should be noted that the Holy See of Etchmiadzin, the Catholicosate of All Armenians also did not consider it appropriate to participate in the activities of the summit .
