The Hayastan parliamentary faction affirms that on March 30, 2025, our compatriots in the city of Gyumri and the consolidated community of Parakar made their choice and did not allow the Civil Contract party to seize power.
In both of these communities, the elections were extraordinary, as Nikol Pashinyan, just as in other local self-government bodies, had ignored the results of previous elections and forcibly usurped power.
Once again, the administration shamelessly exploited government resources, used repressive agencies to exert pressure on opposition candidates, attempted to manipulate voters through a climate of fear, and dispatched nearly every high-ranking Civil Contract official to these communities. After their failure, they hypocritically declare that they are guarantors of free and fair elections and that the citizen’s vote is law for them.
Such abuse of political resources in local elections has never been seen before.
The Hayastan faction congratulates the Miatsutyun (Unity) Alliance, which received the most votes in the Parakar community. We hope that in Gyumri, the opposition forces that passed the electoral threshold will unite to elect a mayor — thereby thwarting any attempt by Pashinyan to usurp power in the city.
