GLENDALE, CA – A group of intellectuals and public figures gathered on Thursday evening to express their concerns over Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent statements, particularly those made within Diaspora circles. The discussion, titled “The Armenian Genocide and Modern-Day Armenia,” took place at the Glendale Youth Center at 7:00 PM.
The event featured a panel of speakers, including actress and cultural advocate Nune Avetisyan, who founded the Barev Cultural Center and hosts a television program of the same name; Armenian-American journalist Harut Sassounian, editor-in-chief of the California Courier; Vazgen Vanatur, president of the Union of Armenian Writers and Journalists of the U.S.; and attorney Gevorg Hakobjyan, a board member of the Armenian Legal Center for Justice and Human Rights.
Throughout the discussion, panelists provided insights into Armenia’s current political trajectory, warning of the potential consequences of the government’s policies.
