The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), an organization that has championed the cause of Armenian unity, independence, and justice for over a century, is marking its 134th anniversary with two significant events in Southern California this January. These gatherings promise to unite the community in a celebration of the ARF’s legacy and its enduring dedication to the Armenian cause.

Glendale Event: Honoring the ARF’s Legacy at The Alex Theatre

The first of the two events will take place on Friday, January 12, at 5:00 PM at the iconic Alex Theatre, located at 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale, CA 91203. This event will feature a mix of keynote speeches, cultural performances, and an opportunity for the community to come together in reflection and celebration.

Keynote addresses will be delivered by Hagop Der Khatchadourian, ARF Bureau Representative, and Aram Kaloustian, both of whom are expected to highlight the organization’s pivotal role in advancing the Armenian national agenda over the past 134 years. They will also address contemporary challenges facing Armenians worldwide and the critical role the ARF continues to play in uniting the diaspora.

The program will also include live performances by some of the community’s most celebrated artists and groups. Karnig Sarkissian, a prominent Armenian singer known for his patriotic and revolutionary songs, will perform alongside the Hamazkayin Ani Dance Company, whose dancers are set to showcase traditional Armenian artistry. Adding to the cultural richness will be the Rose & Alex Pilibos Choir, bringing the melodies of Armenian heritage to the stage.

This event is free of charge, inviting all members of the community to join in this milestone celebration of the ARF’s enduring impact.

Montebello Event: An Evening of Music and Reflection at Bagramian Hall

The second event will take place on Thursday, January 25, at 7:30 PM at Bagramian Hall, located at 900 W. Lincoln Ave., Montebello, CA 90640. This gathering offers a more intimate atmosphere, combining music, community spirit, and reflection on the ARF’s long-standing commitment to the Armenian people.

A Celebration of Resilience and Dedication

The 134th-anniversary celebrations come at a time when the Armenian nation faces significant challenges. These events serve not only as an opportunity to reflect on the ARF’s historical contributions but also as a rallying call for continued dedication to the Armenian cause. For over a century, the ARF has stood as a symbol of resilience, unity, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of a free, independent, and united Armenia.

Community members across Southern California are encouraged to attend these events, whether in Glendale or Montebello, to honor the ARF’s remarkable journey and its enduring legacy.
