AYF Camp Family Picnic Canceled Due to Bridge Fire Cleanup Efforts

LOS ANGELES – The AYF Camp Management Board has announced the cancellation of this year’s AYF Camp Family Picnic, originally scheduled for October 12, 2024. The decision was made in light of ongoing road closures and cleanup operations following the recent Bridge Fire.

While evacuation orders for the area have been lifted and the campgrounds were spared from any structural damage, access to the site remains restricted. The U.S. Forest Service is continuing to address hot spots and conduct vital cleanup efforts, leaving the roads leading to the camp inaccessible.

The AYF Camp Management Board confirmed that refunds for all tickets purchased were processed on Wednesday. Attendees are advised that it may take a few days for the refunds to appear in their bank accounts.

“We understand how much our community looks forward to this event each year, and we share in the disappointment,” said a representative from the AYF Camp Management Board. “The safety of our attendees and the work being done by the Forest Service are our utmost priorities.”

The board also announced plans for a community picnic to be held at the camp next year, with further details to be released in the coming months.

Community members are encouraged to stay tuned for updates through official AYF Camp communications.
