The Armenian Youth Federation Western United States (AYF-WUS) Alumni Central Council hosted a Career Network Mixer for its members at the Armenian Arts Center in Glendale, CA on June 9th, 2024. This event was geared toward fostering an environment for professionals to gather, network, and uplift one another in any one of their various fields and industries. Many AYF alumni members attended this event to serve as guides and resources to their up-and-coming AYF counterparts in assisting them with their future careers. Over 50 participants were present at the event, with various AYF alumni members conducting presentations and talks on their particular fields.
“As former AYF members, we are well aware of the excellent leadership skills and organizational experiences that come along with what the AYF brings to the table for our youth,” said council member Antranig Kzirian. “In nurturing the foundation of our community and organization, this type of event not only offers professional mentorship and networking, but also importantly reaffirms the AYF alumni commitment to our youth as our future, and offers them a helping hand in supporting their growth and opportunities to be the leaders of tomorrow,” he added.
The roster of attendees featured some of the best and brightest of AYF alumni, featuring event participants hailing from technology companies such as Apple and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and a broad array of career professionals in academia, media and video production, insurance, education, computer science, engineering, ESG/renewables, medical/dental, service industry (food/beverage), government and beyond.
“This felt like a much-needed event for our AYF community. We’ve ignored too long the professional aspects of our lives when instead we should be supporting one another and preparing each other for success, just like what this event has done. I didn’t know so many of our ungers were in fields related to mine, and having them here for me to ask questions and help guide me was fantastic. I look forward to the next one,” stated CE member Kevork Madenlian.
The AYF-WUS sincerely thanks all alumni, fellow collaborators, and participants and looks forward to working to generate more opportunities for members of the AYF and the Armenian American community to progress in their respective careers.
