The 8th ARS International Cruise Was a Success

The 8th international cruise organized by the Armenian Relief Society was a highly successful event,
leaving all participants feeling satisfied and impressed by ARS’s remarkable work and mission.

A total of 230 ARS members and friends from various countries took part in the tour, which took place
from April 17 to 29, 2024. The cruise itinerary included a 3-day excursion in Argentina and 2 days in
Brazil, providing the participants with unforgettable experiences.

While in Buenos Aires, the participants attended a divine Liturgy at the St. Gregory the Illuminator
Armenian church, followed by a luncheon at the Armenian Cultural Center, where they enjoyed music
performed by Elie Berberyan and his band.

The passengers set sail on April 20, making stops at Montevideo, Uruguay, where they were warmly
welcomed by members of the ARS Roupina chapter and treated to a city tour and a visit to St. Nerses,
the Gracious church.

During the 7-day cruise, Elie Berberyan and his band entertained the passengers with special musical
events. On April 24, a special event commemorating the Armenian genocide took place, with
participants observing a minute of silence in honor of the genocide martyrs.

The ARS day on April 23 was particularly significant, featuring presentations on the organization’s
programs and mission over the past two years, accompanied by cultural performances.

The cruise also made stops in Santos, Ilhabela, Buzios, and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The overall
consensus was that the 8th international cruise was a huge success, leaving participants with lasting
memories and new friends from around the world. The hard work of the Cruise committee was
instrumental in making the program a success.

The Cruise is one of the fundraising events organized by the ARS to help provide funding for our
humanitarian work, educational projects, and medical assistance across the globe.
