AYF-WUS Hosts 49th Annual Convention, Presents New Central Executive

BIG PINES, CA – The 49th Annual Convention of the Armenian Youth Federation Western United States (AYF-WUS) took place at AYF Camp Big Pines from September 14th to September 17th.

The Convention – the highest body of the AYF-WUS – hosted 45 delegates representing 12 chapters. In addition, representatives from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western United States Central Committee, Oragark Newsletter, AYF-YOARF Eastern Region, AYF Camp Board, and AYF Juniors Central Council participated in the Convention.

The delegates of the Convention reviewed and analyzed the work of the 2022-2023 fiscal year Central Executive (CE), the operations of all the chapters in the region, as well as the performance of the 13 central councils and task forces. Furthermore, the Convention presented, deliberated, and adopted a multitude of resolutions to guide the newly-elected CE body in its operations for the upcoming 2023-2024 fiscal year, pertaining to regional and international affairs. Delegates also reaffirmed their dedication to the Homeland and the work and manifesto of the AYF as the youth wing of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation.

The Convention also had the unique opportunity to hear directly from Khajag Mgrdichian, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau, on both the vital role that revolutionary youth play in our nation’s times of need, and regarding the status of Artsakh and Armenia.

The Convention elected a new Central Executive for the 2023-2024 fiscal year:

The 2023-2024 fiscal year AYF-WUS CE aims to continue and amplify the organization’s vital work being done in the Homeland, especially in Armenia and Artsakh’s time of need.
