On April 11, as part of his ongoing official trip to the United States, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Member of Parliament of the Republic of Armenia and Chairman of the ARF Supreme Council of Armenia visited the headquarters of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church located adjacent to the St. Leon Cathedral and met with Primate of the Western Diocese, His Grace Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.
Saghatelyan was accompanied by ARF Western United States Chairman Daron Der-Khachadourian and Central Committee member Levon Baronian.
Father Khajag Shahbazyan, Pastor of the St. Leon Cathedral accompanied the Primate during the meeting.
Saghatelyan and the ARF Western U.S.A. delegation were welcomed warmly by the Primate and an extensive discussion about the current crises in Armenia and Artsakh ensued.
Saghatelyan provided his assessment of the situation in Armenia and Artsakh and discussed potential solutions. The Primate expressed his desires for peace and harmony in the homeland, offering prayers for Artsakh and Syunik.
